How do you respond to people when they ask, “How’s that thing going?” Especially if it’s not going that well?
Well, listen if you haven’t been asked this question, you’re going to be asked this question, and the most important thing here is to A, be enthusiastic, and B, be excited.
It’s so important to be enthusiastic and to be excited. It’s also important that you shouldn’t exaggerate and you shouldn’t lie about any successes. You need to be prepared.
The most important thing to do here is to share stories. What do I mean by that? You want to share uplifting stories. You want to share product testimonials.
You want to share financial successes. You want to share things your partners are teaching you. Let me give you a couple examples. What about this woman that’s in my company?
She worked as an administrator at a high school. She never saw her four kids, and she got so successful in our company, that she was able to leave her job and spend more time at home with her kids.
What about this other guy in our company who lost sixty-five pounds taking our weight loss products in only three months? You should see him now.
What about the guy who was so poor he could barely pay his rent? He became so successful that he sends his daughter to college in Switzerland.
I’m working with John, and he’s been so great to me, teaching me about personal development and teaching me how to build my business. I know this is going to work for me. Be prepared. Be prepared with these types of stories.
I want to recommend a book to you by Norman Vincent Peale. I read it and it’s terrific, and its Enthusiasm Makes the Difference. Highly recommend that book.
I want to leave you with one thing, last thing here today. The truth is really that other testimonials are actually more powerful than your own.
If you’re financially successful, it doesn’t necessarily mean that the other person is going to be able to do it.
