Do You Express Gratitude?

The reason I chose this subject was because last night my teenage daughter was involved in a motor vehicle accident.

Thank goodness she is fine.

It got me the chance to see the teamwork of the emergency personnel, the ambulance corps, and then the people in the emergency department where they took her- the doctors, the nurses, the techs, the radiology techs.

All of those people did a wonderful job. What makes this even more interesting is that I’m affiliated with both of these groups.

I’m part of the local ambulance core, and I work at this emergency department. I pretty much know all the people here.

I started expressing my gratitude to them at the scene, in the emergency department, continued today, and I know I’ll be thanking these people for the rest of the week.

There’s a saying, “When you give, you get,” and I think that’s no more evident than talking about gratitude. If you don’t give gratitude to people, you may not know what that means, but what I’d like each and every one of you to do for the next week is give gratitude to somebody every day for a week.

See how it makes you feel.

It doesn’t have to be some event from yesterday, like myself, but it could be a teacher that helped you years ago, it could be a friend who did something nice to you.

Try it for week.

Everyday for a week.

See how it makes you feel.
