My topic today is how to become a better listener. I really believe that we have two ears and one mouth for a reason.
I think it’s more important to be a better listener.
What are the tips? First, avoid distractions. Shut off the cell phone, the computer, don’t go on Facebook, don’t multitask while you’re listening to a prospect or a team member.
So important. Number two, don’t interrupt. I see this all the time. People can’t finish their sentences. It shows you’re not listening.
Finally, the third thing is take notes, both mental and physical. Why? Because people are going to say stuff to you that will help you figure out what they’re looking for and then you can try to help them with either your product or your service.
