What’s the best way to work with out of town teammates? Well, listen, usually you start your business locally, but your going to find out as you build your business, your going to have more teammates that are long distance.
Remember to not stop building locally, but do concentrate on your long distance teammates. Don’t forget about them. Some tips. Include them. If you have a local event, conference them in.
This day and age with the internet, you have online conferencing, Face Time, Periscope, lots of ways to teleconference or get them in when your having a local event.
Also, don’t just fly to events because people promise that they’re going to have a certain number of people there. What you need to do is give benchmarks.
For example, if you have a local person, tell them that you need five people on their team before your gonna come out. If it’s in state, tell them you need twenty-five. If they’re out of the country, tell them you need a hundred.
Give benchmarks for the number of people already on board. Not if you come to my event, I’ll build the business with you.
They need to earn the right for you to come out there. In this way, you support your team, without investing time and money flying all over the place.
