How do you deal with a prospect who wants to do business his own way?
Have you ever met anybody like this? Imagine you’re at home. You’re doing a home meeting. Maybe you’re doing a presentation to somebody on your chicken list. He’s a high powered business owner.
After the presentation, he says, “Great business. I’m going to do it this way, and I’m going to do it that way.” He’s got lots of ideas how to approach your business, but it’s just not the way you do your business. What do you do?
Let me tell you what most people would do. They would agree with him, and they would just sign him up. You know what, I think there’s a better response.
Here it is. “The people I work with make X dollars a month. Does that work for you?” If they say yes, do you know what you say? “You know, until you make X dollars a month, we’ll do it my way, and then we’ll look into your ideas. You know, let’s go complete the paperwork. Let’s get you signed up, and let’s get you started.”
I think this is a much better approach to this situation.
You know, if you’ve been in business long enough, you’re bound to encounter somebody like this.
I really believe it’s better to get them started and get them straight right from the beginning, rather than signing them up, and letting them do it their own way.
