Do you struggle managing your time between online prospecting with social media and offline prospecting?
It’s a really good question of how to decide how much time to spend on each. What I would say is it really depends on your goals.
If your goal is to become a top earner, you need to get the presentation out there every single day. If you have leads coming to you through social media, by all means do the majority of time online.
If not however, you need to go out there, you need to do offline recruiting. Or, again, some combination of the 2 of them.
The other thing to keep in mind is that you need to set some goals, and they really need to be reasonable. Don’t get addicted to the outcome; really important here.
There’s a good book out there Go for No! It’s by Andrea Fenton. What she talks about in the book is setting a goal of 20 no’s a day. Unfortunately, most people out there, they go for yes.
They go out there, they want to get somebody, they want to bring somebody in. If they don’t get a yes they’re really disappointed. That’s, I would suggest, not a good attitude to take.
Going for no is better. She talks about going for 20 no’s a day. Maybe for you, your goal would be 3 no’s a day. If you did that, that would be 90 no’s in a month.
That’s terrific, because eventually you’re going to get yeses. You’re not going to be disappointed when you get a no.
You need to be consistent. It’s really like going to the gym. If you don’t go to the gym for 2 months, you go to the gym now and you workout for 4 hours, I would say that’s obviously not going to be as effective. It’s going to be good that you went to the gym, but it’s not going to be as effective.
You’re not going to make up for the other 2 months. You need to go consistently 3 times a week for a certain amount every day and you build it up.
